LeafDoc (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a plant-disease scanner and farming toolkit. You photograph a leaf and an AI model suggests the likely problem and what to do; the app also offers weather-based farm advice, weekly crop prices, crop calendars, calculators, a livestock health checker and a farmer community. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, why, who processes it, and your rights.
1. Information We Access

Weekly crop prices, government schemes and app settings are downloaded from our Firestore database; no personal data is sent to get them. Our servers collect those prices from public sources (European Commission Agri-food Data Portal, UN FAO FPMA, Agmarknet / data.gov.in).
Links to YouTube videos, government websites and vet contacts open in your browser or the YouTube app; those services apply their own privacy policies.
1.3 Data You Choose to Provide
- Community content: posts, photos, answers and chat messages. Posts can be Public (all signed-in users) or Friends only.
- Profile details: first and last name, short bio, country.
- Support emails you send us.
1.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
- No background location tracking — location is used only while the app is open
- No contacts, call logs or SMS
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- Your scan history is never uploaded to our servers
- We never sell your personal data
2. How We Use Your Data
- To diagnose plant problems and show advice suited to your country and weather.
- To provide farm tools: weather advice, prices for your country, reminders, calculators.
- To run your account and the community (posting, friends, chat, moderation).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (App Check, reports, blocking).
- To show ads in the free version.

6. Where Your Data Is Processed
Our Firebase database and file storage are located in the European Union (europe-west1, Belgium). Google, as our processor, may also process data in other countries under its data-processing terms and Standard Contractual Clauses. We are based in Canada, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection for commercial organisations.
7. Advertising and Consent
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown; you can change your choice at any time in the app. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in your phone settings.
8. AI Diagnosis
Diagnoses are produced by an AI model and can be wrong. They are guidance only — not professional agronomic or veterinary advice. The app tells you when a result comes from AI. See our Terms & Conditions.
9. Community Safety and Moderation
You can report any post, answer or user and block users from the app. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that breaks our community rules, and may suspend the accounts responsible. Report details are kept up to 90 days after the report is resolved.
9a. Children
LeafDoc is not directed at children under 13, and the Community is only for users aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EU/UK, PIPEDA in Canada, CCPA/CPRA in California), you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (you can edit your profile in the app)
- Delete your account and data — see Delete Your LeafDoc Account
- Receive a copy of your data (portability)
- Object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time
- Complain to your data-protection authority (in Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner)

10a. US State Privacy Rights (California and others)
We do not sell personal information. Showing personalised ads through Google AdMob may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising under some US state laws. You can opt out in the app under Profile → Ad privacy settings (where shown), or by turning off ad personalisation / deleting your Advertising ID in your phone settings. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to provide the app.
11. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to our database is restricted by security rules: only you can edit your profile and your own content; Friends-only posts are visible only to your friends; chats are visible only to their members.
